About the Exhibition

“You’re From Where I’m From” captures personal narratives that reflect the beauty and complexity of Black life in White Plains, weaving together oral histories, photography, and community memory. Through this lens, Nwana invites visitors to engage in meaningful dialogue about culture, identity, and the intersections that define our shared local history.

This exhibition aligns with the Urban League’s ongoing mission to empower communities and elevate Black voices through cultural, educational, and civic engagement. By sponsoring this initiative, we continue our commitment to ensuring that the diverse experiences of Westchester’s Black residents are both recognized and celebrated.
