Urban League of Westchester Partners with Ridesharing Companies for Discounted Rides to the Polls

Enough is Enough. Vote! Election Day is November 6, 2018.

White Plains, NY, November 2, 2018— We are entering a critically important time in the history of our nation, and it is our mission to enable disenfranchised members of the community to secure economic self-reliance, parity, power and civil rights through economic empowerment. We believe that in order to better elevate the standard of living in historically underserved urban communities, we must make our voices heard by exercising our constitutional right to vote.

The Urban League of Westchester is proud to have partnered with the ridesharing companies Uber and Lyft to help eliminate the transportation obstacle that hinders community members from getting to the polls. Voters concerned about Election Day transportation issues can utilize the rider-hailing apps with discounted rides to polling places on November 6, 2018. Users are encouraged to download the free app and access the discounted ride through the Urban League of Westchester’s website www.ulwc.org by clicking on the respective company logos. Links will be widely circulated through social media platforms and a community listserv.
