Message from the President & CEO
Dear Partners and Friends,
2019 was a phenomenal year for the Urban League of Westchester, having worked with our community partners and friends to set objectives, achieve results and provide valuable and supportive services to promote self-sufficiency within our community.
We distinguish ourselves with an array of signature programs dedicated to driving economic transformation through workforce development, health, education, and social justice outreach. We have come a long way from a gathering space where Negro domestic workers came together after work to our organization, which provided various opportunities to inspire and skillfully equip the next up and coming cohort of CEOs, board members, engineers, entrepreneurs, and civic leaders.
As we enter a new decade of the 21st century, I’m reminded that the fight for economic justice and equity is far from over. We are grateful that the Urban League of Westchester has had the opportunity to implement initiatives and form essential collaborations needed to change the lives of our community. We celebrate our rich history of service and we look forward to serving for another 100 years!
Yours in Service,
Sorraya E. Sampson
